What does Profhilo® do?

Profhilo® is a safe injectable treatment that diffuses within the tissue to stimulate four different types of collagen and elastin. Over a period of four weeks, it boosts natural hyaluronic acid within the tissue, improving firmness, tone and elasticity.   Profhilo can be used to rejuvenate and hydrate any skin on the face and body. It is particularly popular when used in the face and neck and is often dubbed ‘the long lasting injectable moisturizer’ due to its ability to promote better hydration within the skin.

How long does Profhilo® take to work?

Profhilo® treatment can take up to three to four weeks before a lifting and tightening effect is fully developed. Due to its high spread ability, only five injection points on each side of the face are required, which means patients find the treatment much more comfortable.

Will Profhilo®  work like a filler, changing the shape of my face?

No, Profhilo® although comprised of free chain hyaluronic acid it is not a gel product with volume. It is a biostimulator only which is why unlike a filler it can be injected in to the skin itself. It can lift and tighten the skin to give a subtle repositioned effect of the natural volume beneath the skin.

How long until my skin is fully healed from Profhilo® treatment?

In most cases, swelling or small bumps of the skin resolve within two to three days.  At Skin Excellence Clinics, we use super-fine needles to limit bruising and increase comfort as much as possible.

What age is best for Profhilo®?

Patients in the age group 30 to 50 years generally benefit the most from Profhilo®. However, patients who are 50+ who want to repair or rejuvenate their skin can also benefit from the treatment.

Can Profhilo® be used under the eyes?‍

By injecting hyaluronic acid lower down the face, Profhilo® dramatically improves imperfections such as periocular wrinkles, under-eye bags and dark circles with minimal discomfort. A balanced diet as well as the right amount of rest and moderate physical activity also contributes to the overall success of the treatment.
